How To Use Facebook To Grow Your Nutrition Coaching Business

by | Jul 9, 2021

As an online RD nutrition coach, you are the expert in nutrition and healthy eating. You know how to guide others to make better choices and implement healthy habits. However, do you know how to use the power of social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram to support the mission of your business?

Social media can help us reach potential clients and work the sales funnel by gathering and engaging with followers. In this article, however, we will focus on how YOU can use Facebook to help build your audience and gain clients for your nutrition coaching business. But first, allow me to introduce myself!

My name is Tony Stephan, and I’m a dietitian business coach. I help RDs make more IMPACT and more INCOME through nutrition coaching. However, before becoming a dietitian business coach, I was an RD nutrition coach. I served thousands of nutrition coaching clients over a time span of 12 years. My successful nutrition coaching business is what led me to where I am today. Now, let’s review how to use Facebook to grow your nutrition coaching business!

Show Up Authentically On Facebook

Be authentic, be yourself, and be an individual. Use actual photos of yourself for your profile picture. Be sure that your name is easy to find on your page, too! Don’t make it difficult to try and figure out who is running the Facebook page either. Clients are trying to connect with an individual that will help them in their health and fitness journey. Be someone that others can connect with!

Show Up Consistently On Facebook

Post on a regular basis. Make sure your posts are consistent amongst each other. You want similar messages being shared regularly and in a similar tone. You can experiment with what works best for you as far as the tone and voice you want to present on social media. You can also experiment with how often you post. The more consistent you are, the better! Check out this post for some ideas on engaging content, especially points 1 and 2.

Don’t be afraid to share some personal posts, too! This will help make you more relatable and it will feel easier for your potential clients to connect with. If this is too out of your comfort zone, it can be as simple as posting a photo of your family’s dinner or something relatable that happened to you that day! The photo doesn’t necessarily have to be of yourself, just something that can give a little more insight to clients about yourself. It helps warm people up to the idea of potentially working with you in the future!

Don’t Rush – Be Patient!

If you are new to Facebook or Facebook Groups, it’s okay to take baby steps. If you are not new and already feel comfortable with it, then you are one step ahead! Don’t waste all of your energy on gaining likes and comments. Instead, focus on creating posts that provide value and improve your overall engagement.

Would you rather have 10000 people like your post, but only 5 messages about signing up…. Or have 50 people sign up and have 10 people like your post? Whenever you have a new post, share it in every way possible. Email it, share it on your personal accounts, send it to friends, etc. Keep in mind that people have different levels of success with social media, and Facebook is just one of the many tools to use in terms of online marketing. So be patient with it and don’t expect it to transform your business overnight.
